Removing the CD or DVD drive Before you can perform any of the following tasks, you must remove the CD or DVD drive assembly from the server: v Access the front hard disk drive cage so that you can remove or replace the drive in this drive cage v Replace the CD or DVD drive with another drive To remove the CD or DVD drive, complete the following steps. Drive release button CD or DVD drive 1. If you are replacing a removed CD or DVD drive with a new drive, make sure that: v You have all the cables and other equipment that is specified in the documentation that comes with the new drive. v You have checked the instructions that come with the new drive to determine whether you must set any switches or jumpers on the drive. v You have removed the drive mounting clip on the side of the old drive and have it available for installation on the new drive. the
CD

DVD
drive
Before
you
can
perform
any
of
the
following
tasks,
you
must
remove
the
CD
or
DVD
drive
assembly
from
the
server:
v
Access
the
front
hard
disk
drive
cage
so
that
you
can
remove
or
replace
the
drive
in
this
drive
cage
v
Replace
the
CD
or
DVD
drive
with
another
drive
To
remove
the
CD
or
DVD
drive,
complete
the
following
steps.

If
you
are
replacing
a
removed
CD
or
DVD
drive
with
a
new
drive,
make
sure
that:
v
You
have
all
the
cables
and
other
equipment
that
is

in
the
documentation
that
comes
with
the
new
drive.
v
You
have

the
new
drive
to

you

v
You
have
removed
the
drive
