26 Replacing the keyboard NOTE: Before working inside your computer, read the safety information that shipped with your computer and follow the steps in Before working inside your computer. Adhere the thermal pad and foil sticker shipped with the keyboard onto the replacement keyboard. 2. Align the screw holes on the keyboard with the screw holes on the palm-rest assembly. 3. Replace the 29 screws (M1.6x1.5) that secure the keyboard to the palm-rest assembly. 4. Adhere the keyboard-backlight cable and the keyboard-controller board cable to the keyboard. 5. Slide the keyboard-controls board cable and the keyboard-backlight cable into the keyboard-controls board and close the latches to secure the cables. Post-requisites 1. Replace the power button with optional fingerprint reader. 2. Replace the system board. 3. Replace the fans. 4. Replace the solid-state drive. 5. Replace the battery. 6. Replacing the keyboard

Procedure
1.
Adhere the thermal pad and foil sticker shipped with the keyboard onto the replacement keyboard.
2.
Align the screw holes on the keyboard with the screw holes on the palm-rest assembly.
3.
Replace the 29 screws (M1.6x1.5) that secure the keyboard to the palm-rest assembly.
4.
Adhere the keyboard-backlight cable and the keyboard-controller board cable to the keyboard.
5.
Slide the keyboard-controls board cable and the keyboard-backlight cable into the keyboard-controls board and close the latches to
secure the cables.
