Periodic maintenance and adjustment Ski runner wear limit: 8 mm (0.3 in) Ski wear limit: RX10LT 12 mm (0.5 in) RX10MT 24 mm (0.9 in) RX10R 12 mm (0.5 in) ECS00560 ESU12151 Steering system Check the handlebar for excessive free play. To check the handlebar 1. Push the handlebar up and down and back and forth. 2. Turn the handlebar slightly to the right and left. NOTICE Avoid scratching the skis when loading and unloading the snowmobile, when riding in areas with little or no snow, or on sharp edges such as concrete, curbs, etc. This will wear or damage the skis. To align the skis 1. Turn the handlebar so the skis face straight ahead. 2. Check the following for ski alignment: G Skis are facing forward. G Ski toe-out (distance A - distance B) is within specification. If excessive free play is felt, consult a Yamaha dealer. ESU13701 Drive track and slide runners Drive track EWS00480 WARNING A broken track, track fittings or debris thrown by the drive track could be dangerous to an operator or bystanders. Observe the following precautions: G Do not allow anyone to stand behind the snowmobile when the engine is running. G When the rear of the snowmobile is raised to allow the drive track to spin, a suitable stand must be used to support the rear of the snowmobile. Never allow anyone to hold the rear of the snowmobile off the ground to allow the drive track to spin. Never allow anyone near a rotating drive track. G Inspect the drive track condition frequently. Replace damaged slide metal. Replace the drive track if it is damaged to the depth where fabric reinforcement 1. Distance A 2. Distance B Ski toe-out (distance A - distance B): 0.0-15.0 mm (0.00-0.59 in) TIP Move the front tip of each ski fully inward before measuring or aligning. 3. If the alignment is not correct, consult a Yamaha dealer. 66
