Drive guard locking pin Drive guard EWS00401 WARNING G G Coming in contact with the rotating Vbelt or clutch parts can cause severe injury or death. Never run the engine with the drive guard removed. Make sure that the drive guard is tightened securely before operating the snowmobile to protect against severe injury or death from a broken V-belt or other part should it come off the snowmobile while it is in operation. To remove the drive guard 1. Pull out the drive guard locking pin from the drive guard rear holder. 2. Lift up the rear of the drive guard as shown, and then pull the guard rearward to remove it. ECS00830 NOTICE Never run the engine with the V-belt removed. Clutch components can be damaged. The drive guard is designed to protect the Vbelt clutch and V-belt in case parts break or come loose. The drive guard is located behind the left side cover. (See page 44 for removal procedures.) To install the drive guard 1. Insert the projections on the drive guard front holder into the slots in the front of the drive guard. 17

To remove the drive guard
1.

shown, and then pull the guard rearward
to remove it.
