PRE-OPERATION CHECK Check Clutch Mechanical Clutch 1. Squeeze the clutch lever toward the handlebar and release it. It should move freely and smoothly and should return to its rest position quickly when released. 2. Clutch lever freeplay is the amount of clutch lever movement from the rest position to the point of cable resistance. Freeplay (gap) should be .02-.06 inch (0.5-1.5 mm).
