MAINTENANCE Seat Removal and Installation WARNING On passenger models, the passenger seat does not have to be removed for regular maintenance. If removal is desired, the passenger seat mounting screws are located on each side of the seat under the chrome covers. Always make sure the seats are securely fastened before riding the motorcycle. A loose seat could cause a sudden shift in riding position, causing loss of control. 1. 2. 3. 4. Remove the right and left side covers. Remove the fuse box from the bracket (see page 27). Seat Removal and Installation
On passenger models, the passenger seat does not have to be removed for regular maintenance. If removal is
desired, the passenger seat mounting screws are located on each side of the seat under the chrome covers.
Always make sure the seats are securely fastened before riding the motorcycle. A loose seat could cause a
sudden shift in riding position, causing loss of control.
WARNING
1.
Remove the right and left side covers.
2.
Remove the fuse box from the bracket (see page 27).
3.
Remove the right seat screw. Remove the left seat screw.
4.
Lift the rear of the seat and pull rearward and upward to remove it.
NOTE
:
To reinstall the seat, slide the tongue of the seat into the rubber mount at rear of fuel tank. Push down on the
rear of the seat until the screw holes align.
5.
Ensure the front seat mount is engaged in the front rubber mount, then install the screws and tighten securely.
6.
Reinstall the fuse box and the left and right side covers.
