Battery 1. 2. 3. 4. MAINTENANCE Battery Installation Before installing the battery, make sure it's fully charged and clean. Slide the battery into position in the battery tray with positive (+) terminal to rear of motorcycle. Connect the positive ( + ) battery cables, tighten securely and install the red boot. Connect the negative ( - ) cables, tighten securely. Be sure cables have adequate side cover clearance. Caution • Connecting the negative cable first can produce an electric shock that could result in damage or injury. • Connecting the battery cables to the wrong terminals can severely damage the electrical system. 5. Reinstall the battery cover. 6. Reinstall the left side cover. 129

Battery
Battery Installation
1.
Before installing the battery, make sure it’s fully charged and clean.
2.
Slide the battery into position in the battery tray with positive (+) terminal to rear of motorcycle.
3.
Connect the positive ( + ) battery cables, tighten securely and install the red boot.
4.
Connect the negative ( - ) cables, tighten securely. Be sure cables have adequate side cover clearance.
•
Connecting the negative cable first can produce an electric shock that could result in damage or injury.
•
Connecting the battery cables to the wrong terminals can severely damage the electrical system.
Caution
5.
Reinstall the battery cover.
6.
Reinstall the left side cover.
