Check the friction pads for wear, damage and looseness. 8. Inspect the brake disc spline and pad wear surface for excessive wear. 9. Change pads when worn to 3/64s (.1 cm). 3/64s (.1 cm) Parking Brake Inspection 1. Slowly push the parking brake down with your foot. 2. After 8 to 12 clicks of lever travel, check the vehicle for movement. The vehicle should not roll while parked. If the vehicle moves, adjustment is necessary Parking Brake Adjustment 1. Position the vehicle on a level surface. 2. Place the transmission in neutral. 3. Loosen or tighten the nuts on each end of the parking brake cable as needed. 1 85
