OPERATION Driving Safely Parking on an Incline Avoid parking on an incline if possible. If it's unavoidable, follow these precautions: 1. Place the transmission in gear. 2. Set the parking brake. 3. Block the rear wheels on the downhill side. WARNING A rolling vehicle can cause property damage and serious injury. Always apply the parking brake after stopping the engine. Always block the downhill side of the wheels if leaving the vehicle on a hill, or park the vehicle in a sidehill position instead. Operating the vehicle while the parking brake is engaged could cause loss of control and result in serious injury or death. Always disengage the parking brake before operating the vehicle. 46
