Disconnect the cables from the battery, first from
the (–) terminal and then the (+) terminal.
Remove the battery out of the case.
Clean the battery using a solution of baking soda
and water. Be sure that the lead connections are
clean.
Perform a visual inspection. Inspect for defective
or cracked case and cover, and loose or damaged
terminal posts or cables. Replace battery and/or
cables immediately if any damage is found.
Battery Installation
Put the battery in place.
Securely connect the cable with protective cap to
the (+) terminal, and then securely connect the
black cable to the (–) terminal.
Put a light coat of grease on the terminals to pre-
vent corrosion.
Cover the (+) terminal with its protective cap.
Reinstall the battery holder.
