The spark plugs should be taken out in accordance with the Periodic Maintenance Chart for cleaning, inspection, and resetting of the plug gap. Maintenance If the plugs are oily or have carbon build up on them, have them cleaned, preferably in a sand-blasting device, and then clean off any abrasive particles. The plugs may also be cleaned using a high flash-point solvent and a wire brush or other suitable tool. Measure the gap with a wire-type thickness gauge, and adjust the gap if incorrect by bending the outer electrode. If the spark plug electrodes are corroded or damaged, or if the insulator is cracked, replace the plugs. sive particles. The plugs may also be cleaned using
a high flash-point solvent and a wire brush or other
suitable tool.
Measure the gap with a wire-type
thickness gauge, and adjust the gap if incorrect by
bending the outer electrode. If the spark plug elec-
trodes are corroded or damaged, or if the insulator
is cracked, replace the plugs.
Use the standard
