136 MAINTENANCE AND ADJUSTMENT Battery Charging Remove the battery from the vehicle (see Battery Removal). Attach the leads from the charger and charge the battery at a rate that is 1/10th of the battery capacity. For example, the charging rate for a 10 Ah battery would be 1.0 ampere. The charger will keep the battery fully charged until you are ready to reinstall the battery in the vehicle (see Battery Installation). • • • WARNING HAZARD Handling battery parts that contain lead and lead compounds. Battery Charging
Remove the battery from the vehicle (see Battery
Removal).
Attach the leads from the charger and charge the
battery at a rate that is 1/10th of the battery ca-
pacity. For example, the charging rate for a 10 Ah
battery would be 1.0 ampere.
The charger will keep the battery fully charged un-
til you are ready to reinstall the battery in the vehi-
cle (see Battery Installation).
NOTICE
Never remove the sealing strip, or the battery
can be damaged.
Do not install a conventional battery on this
vehicle, or the electrical system cannot work
properly.
NOTE
