Fuses INTERIOR NOTCH UNDER-HOOD (PRIMARY) UNDER-HOOD (SECONDARY) The vehicle's fuses are contained in three fuse boxes. The interior fuse box is on the driver's lower left side. To remove the fuse box lid, put your finger in the notch on the lid, and pull it outward slightly, then pull it toward you and take it out of its hinges. The primary under-hood fuse box is on the passenger's side. The secondary fuse box is next to the brake fluid reservoir. To open them, push the tabs as shown. Checking and Replacing Fuses If something electrical in your vehicle stops working, the first thing you should check for is a blown fuse. Determine from the chart on pages 284 and 285 , or the diagram on the fuse box lid, which fuse or fuses control that device. Check those fuses first, but check all the fuses before deciding that a blown fuse is the cause. Replace any blown fuses, and check if the device works. CONTINUED Taking Care of the Unexpected 281
