Adjusting the rear shock absorber The rear shock absorber has commands that enable you to adjust the setting to suit the load on the motorcycle. The adjuster (1), located on the swingarm, controls rebound damping. Turn the adjuster (1) clockwise to increase damping, or counter-clockwise to reduce damping. Knob (2) allows adjusting the external spring preload. To change spring preload work on the knob: SCREWING or UNSCREWING the bottom ring nut will INCREASE or DECREASE the preload. STANDARD calibration from the fully closed position (clockwise): rebound: unscrew the adjuster (1) by -1.5 turns from Max (fully closed); spring preload: 0 in (0 mm) from all unpreloaded. 1 - + Fig 124 2 2 Fig 125 173
