6. Pivot the server cover outward to remove it. Figure 27. Removing the server cover Attention: For proper cooling and airflow, install the server cover before turning on the server. Operating the server for more than 30 minutes with the server cover removed might damage server components. To reinstall the server cover, see "Reinstalling the server cover and reconnecting cables" on page 157. Removing and reinstalling the front bezel Attention: Do not open your server or attempt any repair before reading and understanding "Safety information" on page iii and "Guidelines" on page 65. This topic provides instructions on how to remove and reinstall the front bezel. Before you begin, print all the related instructions or ensure that you can view the PDF version on another computer for reference. Note: Depending on the model, your server might look slightly different from the illustrations in this topic. To remove and reinstall the front bezel, do the following: 1. Remove all media from the drives and turn off all attached devices and the server. Then, disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to the server. 2. Remove the server cover. See "Removing the server cover" on page 67. Chapter 6.
