Requirements Specific to Perforated Cabinets A perforated cabinet is defined here as a cabinet with perforated front and rear doors and solid side walls. In addition to the requirements listed in the "General Requirements for Cabinets and Racks" section on page C-1, perforated cabinets must meet the requirements listed under Perforated Cabinet Requirements for the Cisco MDS 9513 Chassis. Perforated Cabinet Requirements for the Cisco MDS 9513 Chassis The perforated cabinet requirements for the Cisco MDS 9513 chassis are as follows: • The front and rear doors must have at least a 60 percent open area (per square inch) perforation pattern, with at least 80 percent perforated. • Cisco recommends that the roof should be solid. • Cisco recommends an open cabinet floor to enhance cooling.
