81 To remove DIMMs on the memory board: Before you can install a new DIMM in a socket, remove first any previously installed DIMM from that socket. Important: Before removing any DIMM from the memory board, make sure to create a backup file of all important data. Caution! Use extreme care when removing DIMMs. Too much pressure can damage the connector. Apply only enough pressure on the plastic levers to release the DIMM. 1 Perform steps 1 to 3 described in the "To install DIMMs in the memory board" section. 2 Press the holding clips on both sides of the DIMM slot outward to release the DIMM. 3 Gently pull the DIMM upward to remove it from the socket. 4 Install the memory board assembly. For instructions, see "To install the memory board assembly" section on page 76. 5 Observe the post-installation instructions described on page 40. To reconfigure the system memory: The system automatically detects the amount of memory installed. Run the BIOS setup to view the new value for total system memory and make a note of it.

To remove DIMMs on the memory board:
Before you can install a new DIMM in a socket, remove first any
previously installed DIMM from that socket.
Important:
Before removing any DIMM from the memory board,
make sure to create a backup file of all important data.
Caution!
Use extreme care when removing DIMMs. Too much
pressure can damage the connector. Apply only enough pressure
on the plastic levers to release the DIMM.

Perform steps 1 to 3 described in the “To install DIMMs in the
memory board” section.

Press the holding clips on both sides of the DIMM slot outward to
release the DIMM.

Gently pull the DIMM upward to remove it from the socket.

Install the memory board assembly. For instructions, see “To install
the memory board assembly” section on page 76.
