After coming to a complete stop, pull the shift lever out, slide it to "FWD" or to "REV" until it stops, and then release it. not project out over the handlebar end.
This will help prevent brake lever damage

When parking the snowmobile or starting the
engine, apply the parking brake by moving the
parking brake lever to the left.
To release the parking brake, move the park-
ing brake lever to the right.
