PERIODIC MAINTENANCE AND ADJUSTMENT EAU22231 EWA10670 Adjusting the brake pedal position and free play XVS65Z WARNING It is advisable to have a Yamaha dealer make these adjustments. TIP The brake pedal position should be adjusted before adjusting the brake pedal free play. Brake pedal position The brake pedal should be positioned approximately XVS65ATZ 108.0 mm (4.25 in) XVS65ATZC 108.0 mm (4.25 in) XVS65AZ 108.0 mm (4.25 in) XVS65AZC 108.0 mm (4.25 in) XVS65Z 82.0 mm (3.23 in) XVS65ZC 82.0 mm (3.23 in) above the top of the footrest as shown. Periodically check the brake pedal position and, if necessary, adjust it as follows. 1. Loosen the locknut at the brake pedal. 2. To raise the brake pedal, turn the adjusting bolt in direction (a). Brake pedal free play The brake pedal free play should measure 20.0-30.0 mm (0.79-1.18 in) at the brake pedal end.
