HOW TO AVOID THE HAZARD Use only a genuine Kawasaki replacement chain installed by an authorized Kawasaki dealer. the rear wheels to inspect the drive chain • Rotate for damaged rollers, and loose pins and links. inspect the sprockets for unevenly or exces• Also sively worn and/or damaged teeth. there is any irregularity, have the drive chain • If and/or the sprockets replaced by an authorized Kawasaki dealer. Lubrication the rear of the vehicle on a stable stand • Support with both rear wheels off the ground. Turn the • wheels slowly while oiling the chain. Use a heavy oil, such as SAE90 gear oil, to lubricate the chain. Make sure the oil penetrates the side plates of the chain. j NOTE żSprocket wear is exaggerated for illustration. chain installed by an authorized Kawasaki
dealer.
Rotate the rear wheels to inspect the drive chain
for damaged rollers, and loose pins and links.
Also inspect the sprockets for unevenly or exces-
sively worn and/or damaged teeth.

Sprocket wear is exaggerated for illustration. See
Service Manual for wear limits.
If there is any irregularity, have the drive chain
and/or the sprockets replaced by an authorized
Kawasaki dealer.
Lubrication
Support the rear of the vehicle on a stable stand
with both rear wheels off the ground.
Turn the
wheels slowly while oiling the chain.
Use a heavy oil, such as SAE90 gear oil, to lubri-
cate the chain. Make sure the oil penetrates the
side plates of the chain.
