Operation When the ignition key is turned from ON to OFF, the immobilizer system activates the engine lock. When the ignition key is turned from OFF to ON to start the engine: 1) if the code is recognised, the protection system releases the engine lock. Press the START button (2, fig. 42), to start the engine; 2) if the "Engine Diagnosis - EOBD" light (8, fig. 3) comes on and the page with the "Error" message is displayed when you press switch (10, fig. 5) in position "▼" it means that the code was not recognised. In this case, turn the ignition key back to OFF and then to ON again. If the engine still does not start, try again with the other black key. If the engine still does not start, contact the DUCATI Service network. Duplicate keys If you need additional keys, contact your DUCATI Service Centre with all the keys you have in your possession and your CODE CARD. The Ducati Service Centre will program all the new keys as well as any keys you already have. You may be asked to provide proof that you are the legitimate owner of the motorcycle. The codes of any keys not submitted will be wiped off from the memory to make those keys unserviceable in case they have been lost. E Sharp knocks can damage the electronic components inside the key. Always use the same key throughout the procedure. Using different keys could prevent the system from recognising the code in the key. Operation
When the ignition key is turned from ON to OFF, the

ignition key is turned from OFF to ON to start the engine:

the engine lock. Press the START button (2, fig. 42), to start
the engine;

and the page with the “Error“ message is displayed when
