VISUAL SCAN While you are receiving, Visual Scan allows you to monitor frequencies near the current operating frequency. Visual Scan graphically and simultaneously shows how all frequencies in the selected range are busy. You will see up to 21 segments, for each channel, that represent 7 S-meter levels (3 segments per level). Determine the scan range by selecting the center frequency and the number of channels. The default number of channels is 61. ■ Selecting the Number of Channels 1 Press [MNU] to enter Menu mode. 2 Press [c]/ [d] to select "AUX (1-9-)", then press [OK]. 3 Press [c]/ [d] to select "VISUAL SCAN (1-9-2)", then press [OK]. S-meter level Mode 1 (31 ch) 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 9 4 Press [c]/ [d] to select 31, 61 (default), 91, or 181 channels. 5 Press [OK] to complete the setting. 6 Press [MNU] to exit Menu mode.
