SECTION 13-RECLINER BACK OPTION ACTION Back releases WITHOUT squeezing EITHER trigger release lever. (Actuator too LOW.) Back DOES NOT release while squeezing BOTH trigger release levers. (Actuator too HIGH.) Back releases while squeezing the LEFT trigger release lever ONLY. (Actuator too LOW.) Back releases while squeezing the RIGHT trigger release lever ONLY. (Actuator too LOW.) NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS Adjust the LEFT AND RIGHT gas cylinders Adjust the LEFT AND RIGHT gas cylinders. Adjust the LEFT gas cylinders ONLY. Adjust the RIGHT gas cylinders ONLY. Performing Adjustments ƽ WARNING Both gas cylinders MUST be operational and adjusted properly BEFORE using the recliner. DO NOT operate the recliner if only one of the gas cylinders is operational or adjusted properly. 1. To adjust the LEFT gas cylinder: Loosen the cable locking nut that secures the cable adjusting nut in place. 2. Turn the cable adjusting nut one of two ways: ƽ WARNING DO NOT over tighten the adjusting nut on the recliner cable. Overtightening the adjusting nut on the recliner cable WILL actuate the gas cylinder, possibly causing injury. • Clockwise - Turning the cable adjusting nut clockwise will tighten the recliner cable. DO NOT overtighten the cable adjusting nut. Turn the cable adjusting nut clockwise until actuator looks like Detail "B" of FIGURE 13.5. • Counterclockwise - Turning the cable adjusting nut counterclockwise will loosen the recliner cable. NOTE: If the recliner cable is too loose, the gas cylinders will not work. 3. While holding the cable adjusting nut in place, tighten the cable locking nut against the cable adjusting nut. 4. Repeat STEP 1. 5. Repeat STEP 2 until the left side of the back does not recline. 6. Squeeze the trigger release lever of the right recliner cable assembly and try to recline the back. Performing Adjustments

WARNING
Both gas cylinders MUST be operational and adjusted properly BEFORE using the
recliner. DO NOT operate the recliner if only one of the gas cylinders is
operational or adjusted properly.
1.
To adjust the LEFT gas cylinder: Loosen the cable locking nut that secures the cable
adjusting nut in place.
2.
Turn the cable adjusting nut one of two ways:

WARNING
DO NOT over tighten the adjusting nut on the recliner cable. Overtightening the
adjusting nut on the recliner cable WILL actuate the gas cylinder, possibly causing
injury.
Clockwise - Turning the cable adjusting nut clockwise will tighten the recliner
cable. DO NOT overtighten the cable adjusting nut. Turn the cable adjusting nut
clockwise until actuator looks like Detail “B” of FIGURE 13.5.
Counterclockwise - Turning the cable adjusting nut counterclockwise will loosen
the recliner cable.
NOTE: If the recliner cable is too loose, the gas cylinders will not work.
3.
While holding the cable adjusting nut in place, tighten the cable locking nut against
the cable adjusting nut.
4.
Repeat STEP 1.
5.
Repeat STEP 2 until the left side of the back does not recline.
6.
Squeeze the trigger release lever of the right recliner cable assembly and try to recline
the back. The back should not recline.
