Glossary A APID arbitration command device arbitration path arbitration processing audit log An ID for identifying the first DAD ID of a route. The same APID value is used for the primary DKC and secondary DKC on the same route. A command device used by remote DKCs in a 4x4 configuration to communicate with each other for arbitration processing A path used by the supervisor DKC to communicate with subordinate DKCs in a 4x4 configuration for remote-disk controller arbitration processing Hardware processing performed to preserve consistency between remote DKCs in a 4x4 configuration Audit log information enables you to get operating usage and communication records. Audit logs are output to SYSLOG when actions or errors that are related to the linkage between XP Replication Manager Software and the Business Continuity Manager agent occur, such as when the Business Continuity Manager agent starts or stops. B BCM Monitor BCM Monitor parameter file Business Continuity Manager agent Business Continuity Manager environment variable This function supports the automatic operation of copy groups. BCM Monitor automatically performs operations on copy groups according to the information specified in BCM Monitor parameter files. A generic name that refers to the YKMONCG and YKMONOPT files. The actions for BCM Monitor are specified in the BCM Monitor parameter files. A program required to link with Replication Manager. Business Continuity Manager agent passes requests between Replication Manager and Business Continuity Manager. An environment variable used to run Business Continuity Manager, which is set by using the YKSETENV command. The Business Continuity Manager environment variable enables the following settings: host ID, prefix of the license information dataset, whether to use the system logger service, and whether to output the CLI command-execution logs to SYSLOG. C CANCEL command cataloged procedure for startup CLI command configuration file consistency group consistency time copy direction copy group copy group container copy group container with EXCTG ID specified An operator command used to forcibly stop a Business Continuity Manager agent or BCM Monitor A cataloged procedure used for startup of a Business Continuity Manager agent or BCM Monitor A command that can be used from the Business Continuity Manager command line interface A generic name that refers to copy group definition files, disk configuration definition files, command device definition files, route list definition files, and path set definition files. (C/T group) When updating volumes in the group, this preserves consistency in the update sequence. (C/T Time) The time indicated by the P-VOL I/O timestamp written to the S-VOL. If consistency is preserved, it assures that the data statuses of the P-VOL and S-VOL match at a consistency time. Flow of the data for matching the S-VOL data with the P-VOL data. In normal operation, data always flows from a P-VOL to an S-VOL. When a failure occurs or when a return is made, data may flow from an S-VOL to a P-VOL. A group of the several pair volumes that the user uses for the same operation A set of multiple consistency groups with the same copy type. The whole copy group container can be manipulated collectively. When URs are in a 4x4 configuration, consistency can be preserved between volumes in a copy group container with multiple disk controllers by assigning an EXCTG ID to the copy group container. This will register the copy group container as an EXCTG on the disk controllers. 387
