Operation Initiating a Self-Test To initiate a self-test, press and hold the Test/Alarm Reset button (1) for three seconds. 1 Figure 2-4: Test/Alarm Reset button Because a portion of the self-test requires battery power, the self-test cannot be initiated if the batteries are less than 90 percent charged. If the UPS detects a problem, the appropriate LED illuminates and an audible alarm may sound. WARNING: To reduce the risk of electric shock from Earth (ground) conductor leakage current, use the self-test procedure to check the UPS batteries (rather than unplugging the UPS). • For the meaning of individual LEDs, refer to "Front Panel Controls and LED Indicators," in this chapter. • For information on what to do if the self-test detects a problem, refer to Chapter 5, "Troubleshooting."
