SUMMARY STEPS 1. configure terminal 2. interface port-channel channel-number 3. description 4. exit 5. show interface port-channel channel-number 6. copy running-config startup-config DETAILED STEPS Step 1 Command configure terminal Purpose Enters configuration mode. Step 2 Step 3 Step 4 Step 5 Step 6 Example: switch# configure terminal switch(config)# interface port-channel channel-number Example: switch(config)# interface port-channel 2 switch(config-if) Specifies the port-channel interface that you want to configure, and enters the interface mode. description Example: switch(config-if)# description engineering switch(config-if)# Allows you to add a description to the port-channel interface. You can use up to 80 characters in the description. By default, the description does not display; you must configure this parameter before the description displays in the output. exit Example: switch(config-if)# exit switch(config)# Exits the interface mode and returns to the configuration mode. show interface port-channel channel-number (Optional) Displays interface information for the specified port channel. Example: switch(config-router)# show interface port-channel 2 copy running-config startup-config Example: switch(config)# copy running-config startup-config (Optional) Copies the running configuration to the startup configuration.
