186 Appendix B: System management SCSISelect The Altos G900 system includes an onboard Adaptec® SCSI controller with two SCSI channels (A and B). The host adapter includes an onboard Adaptec® SCSISelect configuration utility that allows you to view and configure the settings of the host adapter and devices in the server. This includes changing default values, checking and changing SCSI device settings that might conflict with those of other devices in the server, and performing a low-level format on SCSI devices installed in the server. Note: The SCSISelect utility is only available if the onboard SCSI controller is enabled in BIOS setup. Use SCSISelect to: • Change default values • Check and change SCSI device settings that might conflict with those of other devices in the server • Do a low-level format on SCSI devices installed in the server Running SCSISelect To run the SCSISelect utility: 1 During POST, press Ctrl + A to run the utility when this message appears on the video monitor: When the main menu for the host adapter appears, follow the instructions on screen to configure the controller settings or format drives on each SCSI channel.
