PERIODIC MAINTENANCE AND ADJUSTMENT parts on this motorcycle have a clear coat applied. Do not use polishes or sealers on these surfaces because the clear coat can be damaged. [ECA17760] The spokes and rims are chromeplated. Follow the instructions for cleaning provided on page 8-1. EAU22073 Clutch lever Since this model is equipped with a hydraulic clutch, adjusting the clutch lever free play is not needed. However, it is necessary to check the clutch fluid level and check the hydraulic system for leakage before each ride. (See page 7-19.) If the clutch lever free play does become excessive, and shifting becomes rough or clutch slippage occurs, causing poor acceleration, there may be air in the clutch system. If there is air in the hydraulic system, have a Yamaha dealer bleed the system before operating the motorcycle. ● 1 2 1. Valve stem nut 2. The custom wheels on this motorcycle
are made of forged aluminum and re-
quire special care for best appearance.
The wheel hubs are bare polished
aluminum. Use a quality metal pol-
ish designed for aluminum to
maintain the shine. To help pre-
vent pitting or discoloration, follow
each polishing with a quality alumi-
num protectant/sealer.
NOTICE:

parts on this motorcycle have a

draulic clutch, adjusting the clutch lever
