Control functions To increase the rebound damping force, turn the adjusting knob in direction (a). To decrease the rebound damping force, turn the adjusting knob in direction (b). FX10RTRS TIP The damping forces will not decrease past the minimum levels even if the adjusting knobs are turned out more than the minimum settings. ESU13133 Adjusting the spring preload of the center shock absorber and the rear torsion springs The spring preload can be adjusted by turning the adjusting nut on the center shock absorber and the adjusters on the rear torsion springs. Adjust the spring preload as follows. 1. Rebound damping force adjusting knob FX10XT Center shock absorber 1. Loosen the locknut. 2. To increase the spring preload and thereby harden the suspension, turn the adjusting nut in direction (a). To decrease the spring preload and thereby soften the suspension, turn the adjusting nut in direction (b). 1 1. The damping forces will not decrease past the

Adjusting the spring preload of the
center shock absorber and the rear
torsion springs
The spring preload can be adjusted by turning
the adjusting nut on the center shock absorb-
er and the adjusters on the rear torsion
springs. Adjust the spring preload as follows.
Center shock absorber
1.
Loosen the locknut.
2.
To increase the spring preload and there-
by harden the suspension, turn the ad-
justing nut in direction (a). To decrease
the spring preload and thereby soften the
suspension, turn the adjusting nut in di-
rection (b).
TIP
The spring preload setting is determined by
measuring distance A, shown in the illustra-
tion. The longer distance A is, the higher the
spring preload; the shorter distance A is, the
lower the spring preload.
