Remove the coolant reservoir cap, fill the reservoir with the recommended coolant, and then install the cap. 5. Check the coolant reservoir. If it is not full, remove the coolant reservoir cap, fill the reservoir with the recommended coolant, and then install the cap. Check for any coolant leakage. 6. Remove the coolant recovery tank cap, add the recommended coolant until it reaches the "COLD LEVEL" mark, and then install the cap. Make sure that the drive guard is tightened securely before operating the snowmobile. Never run the engine with the V-belt or drive guard removed. The V-belt should be checked before each ride. To check the V-belt 1. Remove the shroud and the left side cover, and then remove the drive guard. (See page 42 for removal procedures.) 2. Check the V-belt for wear and damage. Replace if necessary. Recommended antifreeze: High-quality ethylene glycol antifreeze containing corrosion inhibitors Antifreeze and water mixing ratio: 3:2 Total amount: 6.00 L (6.34 US qt) (5.28 Imp.qt) 4. Replenishing the coolant
1.
Remove the top cover. (See page 42 for
removal procedures.)
2.
Remove the coolant reservoir cap, fill the
reservoir with the recommended coolant,
and then install the cap.
3.
Remove the coolant recovery tank cap,
add the recommended coolant until it
reaches the “COLD LEVEL” mark, and
then install the cap.
4.
Start the engine, allow it to idle for several
minutes, and then turn it off.
5.
Check the coolant reservoir. If it is not full,
remove the coolant reservoir cap, fill the
reservoir with the recommended coolant,
and then install the cap.
6.
Check for any coolant leakage.
NOTE:
If you find any leaks, consult a Yamaha deal-
er.
7.
Install the top cover.

V-belt
WARNING
EWS00400
Make sure that the drive guard is tight-
ened securely before operating the
snowmobile.
Never run the engine with the V-belt or
drive guard removed.
The V-belt should be checked before each
ride.
To check the V-belt
1.
Remove the shroud and the left side cov-
er, and then remove the drive guard.
(See page 42 for removal procedures.)
2.
Check the V-belt for wear and damage.
Replace if necessary.
