Fuel There is enough fuel. Check the fuel level in the fuel tank. There is no fuel. Supply fuel. Check the compression. The engine does not start. Check the compressoin. 2. Compression There is compression. Operate the electric starter. There is no compression. Have a Yamaha dealer check the vehicle. Check the ignition. 6 3. Ignition Remove the spark plugs and check the electrodes. Dry Have a Yamaha dealer check the vehicle. The engine does not start. Check the battery. Wet Wipe off with a dry cloth and correct the spark plug gaps, or replace the spark plugs. Open the throttle halfway and operate the electric starter. 4. Battery Operate the electric starter. The engine turns over quickly. The battery is good. The engine does not start. Have a Yamaha dealer check the vehicle. The engine turns over slowly. Check the electrolyte and battery lead connections, and charge the battery if necessary. 6-40
