SAFETY Safety Maintenance Careful periodic maintenance will help keep your vehicle in the safest, most reliable condition. Perform all periodic maintenance at the recommended intervals outlined in the Periodic Maintenance section beginning on page 51. Record maintenance and service in the Maintenance Log beginning on page 97. Inspect, clean, lubricate, adjust and replace parts as necessary. When inspection reveals the need for replacement parts, use genuine SLINGSHOT parts available from your SLINGSHOT dealer. NOTE: Service and adjustments are important for proper vehicle operation. If you're not familiar with safe service and adjustment procedures, have your authorized dealer perform these operations. • Before each ride, perform the Pre-Ride Inspections. See page 36. • Always maintain proper tire pressure, tread condition and wheel and tire balance. Inspect tires regularly and replace worn or damaged tires promptly. Use only SLINGSHOTapproved replacement tires. • Fasteners must meet original specifications for quality, finish and type to ensure safety. Use only genuine SLINGSHOT replacement parts, and ensure that all fasteners are tightened to the proper torque. Electromagnetic Interference This vehicle complies with European directive 97/24/EC Chapter 8 requirements, which is equivalent to Canadian ICES-002. Industry Canada ICES-002 (Interference-Causing Equipment Standard) The spark ignition system complies with the Canadian standard ICES-002.
