MAINTENANCE AND LUBRICATION Periodic Maintenance Chart Careful periodic maintenance will help keep your vehicle in the safest, most reliable condition. Inspection, adjustment and lubrication of important components are explained in the periodic maintenance chart. Inspect, clean, lubricate, adjust and replace parts as necessary. When inspection reveals the need for replacement parts, use genuine Polaris parts available from your Polaris dealer. NOTE: Service and adjustments are critical. If you're not familiar with safe service and adjustment procedures, have a qualified dealer perform these operations. Some models are equipped with a speedometer that has a programmable service interval mode. This important feature will help you determine when maintenance service is due. See page 48 for instructions. Maintenance intervals in the following charts are based upon average riding conditions and an average vehicle speed of approximately 10 miles per hour. Vehicles subjected to severe use must be inspected and serviced more frequently. Severe Use Definition S Frequent immersion in mud, water or sand S Racing or race-style high RPM use S Prolonged low speed, heavy load operation S Extended idle S Short trip cold weather operation Maintenance Chart Key " E J Perform these procedures more frequently for vehicles subjected to severe use.
