Transmission Oil MAINTENANCE AND LUBRICATION The transmission oil level should be checked every six months or 1000 miles (1600 km), whichever comes first. Transmission oil should be changed annually. We recommend the use of Polaris AGL Synthetic Gearcase Lubricant. See page 109 for the part numbers of Polaris products. Oil Check The transmission oil fill plug (1) is located on the right side of the ATV behind the footwell. 1. To access the fill plug, remove the four screws on the footwell and gently pull outward to remove the footwell. 2. Remove the fill plug and check the oil level. Maintain the oil at the bottom of the fill hole threads. Oil Change 3. Remove the transmission drain plug (2). Drain the oil into a drain pan and dispose of properly. 4. Clean and reinstall the drain plug. Torque to 14 ft. lbs. (19 Nm). 5. Remove the fill plug and add 13.5 oz. (399 ml) of the recommended transmission oil. Maintain the level at the bottom of the fill hole threads. 6. Replace the fill plug and check for leaks. 7. Reinstall the footwell and screws. 1 2 75
