OPERATION Driving Safely Traveling Downhill WARNING Excessive speed when traveling downhill can cause loss of control and serious injury or death. When traveling downhill, follow these precautions: 1. Transfer your weight to the rear. 2. Drive straight down the hill. 3. Slow down. Squeeze the brake lever gradually. WARNING: Applying the brakes too firmly may cause the rear wheels to lock, which could result in loss of control. Before operating your ATV, learn how the auxiliary brake works in case you lose your normal service brakes. 58
