194 MAINTENANCE AND ADJUSTMENT NOTICE Never remove the sealing strip, or the battery can be damaged. Do not install a conventional battery in this motorcycle, or the electrical system cannot work properly. Make Type Yuasa Battery ZX1000J: YTZ7S (F) ZX1000K: YTZ10S WARNING Battery posts, terminals and related accessories contain lead and lead compounds, chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and reproductive harm. Wash hands after handling. Battery Removal Remove the rider's seat (see Seats section in the GENERAL INFORMATION chapter). Turn the ignition switch to "OFF" and disconnect the (-) cable from the battery. Remove the red cap form the (+) terminal, and disconnect the (+) cables from the battery. • • • ○If NOTE you charge the sealed battery, never fail to observe the instructions shown in the label on the battery.
