MAINTENANCE AND ADJUSTMENT 123 Spark Arrester This vehicle is equipped with a spark arrester approved for off-road use by the U.S. Forest Service. It must be properly maintained to ensure its efficiency. In accordance with the Periodic Maintenance Chart, clean the spark arrester. WARNING Incorrectly installed spark arrester can emit sparks which can cause a fire. Be sure the spark arrester and muffler are installed securely. j A. Muffler B. Bolts C. Spark Arrester Spark Arrester Cleaning and Inspection WARNING The muffler can become extremely hot during normal operation and cause severe burns. Since the engine must be running during this procedure, wear heat-resistant gloves while cleaning the spark arrester.

Spark Arrester
This vehicle is equipped with a spark arrester ap-

clean the spark arrester.
WARNING

spark arrester and muffler are installed se-
curely.
Spark Arrester Cleaning and Inspection
WARNING
The muffler can become extremely hot dur-
ing
normal
operation
and
cause
