Clutch lever (fig. 35) When the clutch lever (1) is operated, drive from the engine to the gearbox and the rear wheel is disengaged. Correct use of the clutch lever is very important in all riding situations, especially when moving off. E Important Using the clutch properly will prolong the life of the engine and prevent any damage to components in the transmission. Notes The engine can be started with the sidestand down and the gearbox in neutral. If starting with a gear engaged, pull in the clutch lever (in this case the sidestand must be up). 1 fig. 35 47
