English / USA Starter Grip with ElastoStart* : Use a screwdriver to pry the rope out of the starter grip. : Remove the remaining rope from the rotor and grip. All Versions 2 3 4 4 001BA096 KN : Thread the new rope through the top of the starter grip. 213BA019 KN 5 6 7 : Thread the rope through the top of the guide bush (5), pull it through the rotor (6) and secure it with a simple overhand knot. : Coat rope rotor bearing bore with resin-free oil. : Slip rotor over the starter post (7) - turn it back and forth to engage anchor loop of the rewind spring. 213BA020 KN : Fit the pawls (4) in the rope rotor. : Fit the washer (3) on the starter post. : Use a screwdriver or suitable pliers to install the spring clip (2) on the starter post and engage it on the pawls' pegs - the spring clip must point clockwise as shown in the illustration. Tensioning the Rewind Spring : Make a loop in the starter rope and use it to turn the rope rotor six full revolutions in the direction of the arrow. 213BA021 KN * see "Guide to Using this Manual" 50 MS 361 C

Starter Grip with ElastoStart*

Use a screwdriver to pry the rope
out of the starter grip.
:
Remove the remaining rope from
the rotor and grip.

Thread the new rope through the
top of the starter grip.

Thread the rope through the top of
the guide bush (

), pull it through
the rotor (

) and secure it with a
simple overhand knot.
:
Coat rope rotor bearing bore with
resin-free oil.
:
Slip rotor over the starter post (

) –
turn it back and forth to engage
anchor loop of the rewind spring.
:
Fit the pawls (

) in the rope rotor.
:
Fit the washer (

) on the starter
post.

Use a screwdriver or suitable pliers
to install the spring clip (

) on the
starter post and engage it on the
pawls’ pegs – the spring clip must
point clockwise as shown in the
illustration.
Tensioning the Rewind Spring
:
Make a loop in the starter rope and
use it to turn the rope rotor six full
revolutions in the direction of the
arrow.
