N Setting the timer for weekdays and weekends 1 Press MULTI JOG. Check the ON or OFF setting for each day. If you do not need to change the setting, skip the following steps, then proceed to step 7 on the previous page. Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday To change the day of the week, rotate MULTI JOG to display the desired day. For example: Today's day of Specified day of the week the week Press MULTI JOG to complete the setting. If you selected "Every": The selected recorder will record at the specified time on every day of the week you specify. Press MULTI JOG to display the following message. (All days of the week are currently selected for timer recording.) "_" means Off. 2 Turn MULTI JOG to select the day setting that you wish to modify. Rotate MULTI JOG to select the day of the week you wish to set. The selected day of the week lights up The selected day 3 Press MULTI JOG to modify the setting. Each press toggles the day On or Off. Refer to step 3, 4 in the left column for information on turning the selected day of the week on or off. 3 Press MULTI JOG, then turn it to select the recorder. Sunday has become On. 4 To change the setting for the other days, repeat steps 2 and 3. 5 Turn MULTI JOG until "Set" appears in the dis- play. 6 Go back to Step 7 on the previous page. N Selecting the day(s) of the week and the recorder for Rec timer 1 Press MULTI JOG. The "Once" or "Every" indicator flashes. 2 Turn MULTI JOG to select "Every" or "Once." Now you can set the day of the week for the timer. If you selected "Once": The selected recorder will record once on the closest specified day of the week. Press MULTI JOG. The "NEXT" indicator or a day of the week flashes. If you select "NEXT," the recorder will record only once at the specified time. (Recording source) FM AM LI*1 (Recorders) MD TAPE*2 MD&TAPE*2 *1 If you changed the name, the new name appears (see page 65). *2 If an Onkyo cassette tape deck is connected to the FRN3X, change the input source indication from CD-R to TAPE. In this case, you can select "TAPE" or "MD&TAPE" as the recording device. You can record the same source to the MD and a stereo cassette tape deck simultaneously if you select MD&TAPE. 4 Go back to Step 7 on the previous page. (Continued on the next page) 63
