GS752TXS and GS728TXS Smart Switches Synchronize Stack Firmware Stack firmware Synchronization (SFS) provides the ability to automatically synchronize firmware for all stack members. If a unit joins the stack and its firmware version is different from the version running on the stack manager, the SFS feature can either upgrade or downgrade the firmware on the mismatched stack member. There is no attempt to synchronize the stack to the latest firmware of a member that joins the stack.  To configure stack firmware synchronization: 1. Select System  Stacking  Advanced  Stack Firmware Synchronization. The Stack Firmware Synchronization screen displays. 2. In the Stack Firmware Auto Upgrade list, choose whether to enable or disable automatic firmware upgrades for new stack members. Enabling the feature allows the stack manager to automatically upgrade the firmware version of a unit that joins the stack if the firmware version on the new stack member is older than the firmware version on the stack manager. 3. In the Traps list, enable or disable sending of SNMP traps during SFS start, failure, or finish. 4. In the Allow Downgrade list, choose whether to allow the stack manager to downgrade the firmware image on a new stack member if the firmware version on the manager is older than the firmware version on the new stack member. When Enable is selected, the stack manager can downgrade the firmware on the new stack member. 5. Click Apply. 94

Synchronize Stack Firmware

Stack firmware Synchronization (SFS) provides the ability to automatically synchronize

firmware for all stack members. If a unit joins the stack and its firmware version is different
