Troubleshooting - Mac Problem Solution Drive is connected, but "No drives connected" message appears in the drive list. Check both ends of the FireWire or USB cable to make sure they are fully seated in their respective ports. Try disconnecting the cables, waiting 10 seconds, and then reconnecting them. If the drive is still not recognized, restart your computer and try again. NOTE: eSATA bus is not compatible with LaCie Shortcut Button. To use LaCie Shortcut Button, connect your LaCie hard drive to your computer via USB or FireWire. Nothing happens when the button is pushed. Make sure the drive is connected to your computer. See above. Launch LaCie Shortcut Button from System Preferences. ❖ Make sure the drive appears in the drive list. ❖ Make sure that the "No action" button is off. If it is on, select the EMC Retrospect Express action or a custom action. "The action ["action name"] can't be launched" error message when the button is pushed. If the application, document or script you defined as the custom action has been moved from its location at the time you defined the action, LaCie Shortcut Button will not be able to locate or launch it. Either redefine the action by clicking Choose... to select the application, document or script in its new location or return it to its original location. ■ 3.6.8. Drive is connected, but
“No drives connected”
message appears in the
drive list.
Check both ends of the FireWire or USB cable to make sure they are fully seated in their
respective ports. Try disconnecting the cables, waiting 10 seconds, and then reconnecting
them. If the drive is still not recognized, restart your computer and try again.
NOTE:
eSATA bus is not compatible with LaCie Shortcut Button. To use LaCie Shortcut
Button, connect your LaCie hard drive to your computer via USB or FireWire.
