Chapter 1 - Read a Tag Adjust the RF Field Strength The RF Field Strength is the RFID power level you use to read tags. Increasing the level of the RF Field Strength increases the range for reading a tag, but it will decrease battery life. The change you make on the Read Settings screen is only temporary. The default value of the RF Field Strength is 30 dB. You can change the default setting from the Start screen: Settings > System > Intermec Settings > RFID > Reader 1 > RFID Module.
