6. Remove the speakers (4). Reverse this procedure to install the speakers. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the keyboard/top cover (see Keyboard/top cover on page 24). 5. Remove the speakers (see Speakers on page 34). Remove the battery: 1. Release the shielding (1) that covers the battery cable and connector. 2. Disconnect the battery cable (2) from the system board. 3. Remove the two Phillips M2.0×4.2 screws (3) that secure the battery to the bottom cover. Component replacement procedures 35
