NOTE: When adjusting the rear brake lever free play: G Be sure not to step on the brake pedal. G Make sure the brake pedal does not move. Checking the brake pedal position The top of the brake pedal should be positioned 75.0-85.0 mm (2.95-3.35 in) above the footboard. If the brake pedal position is incorrect, have a Yamaha dealer adjust it. 8 5. Check the brake lever free play and, if necessary, adjust it by turning the brake lever free play adjusting bolt at the brake lever. Turn the brake lever free play adjusting bolt in direction (a) to increase the free play, and in direction (b) to decrease it. 8-35

Check the brake lever free play and, if neces-
sary, adjust it by turning the brake lever free
play adjusting bolt at the brake lever. Turn the
brake lever free play adjusting bolt in direction
(a) to increase the free play, and in direction
(b) to decrease it.
6.
Tighten the locknut at the brake lever.
NOTE:
When adjusting the rear brake lever free play:
Be sure not to step on the brake pedal.
Make sure the brake pedal does not move.
Checking the brake pedal position
The top of the brake pedal should be positioned
75.0–85.0 mm (2.95–3.35 in) above the footboard.
If the brake pedal position is incorrect, have a
Yamaha dealer adjust it.
