TROUBLESHOOTING Engine Turns Over, Fails to Start Possible Cause Out of fuel Clogged fuel valve Water is present in fuel Fuel valve is turned off Old, poor or non-recommended fuel Fouled or defective spark plug No spark to spark plug Overuse of choke Low battery voltage Mechanical failure Throttle ETC switch not opening Solution Turn fuel valve to reserve, refuel Inspect and clean or replace Drain the fuel system and refuel Turn the fuel valve on Drain and replace with new fuel Inspect plug(s), replace if necessary Inspect plug(s), verify stop switch is on Inspect, clean and/or replace spark plugs Recharge battery to 12.8 VDC See your Polaris dealer Adjust throttle freeplay 167

Possible Cause
Solution
Out of fuel
Turn fuel valve to reserve, refuel
Clogged fuel valve
Inspect and clean or replace
Water is present in fuel
Drain the fuel system and refuel
Fuel valve is turned off
Turn the fuel valve on
Old, poor or non-recommended fuel
Drain and replace with new fuel
Fouled or defective spark plug
Inspect plug(s), replace if necessary
No spark to spark plug
Inspect plug(s), verify stop switch is on
Overuse of choke
Inspect, clean and/or replace spark plugs
Low battery voltage
Recharge battery to 12.8 VDC
Mechanical failure
See your Polaris dealer
Throttle ETC switch not opening
Adjust throttle freeplay
