Care of Safety Belts Keep belts clean and dry. Cleaning the Outside of the Windshield and Wiper Blades If the windshield is not clear afterusing the windshield washer, or if the wiper blade chatters when running, wax, sap or other materialmay be on the blade or windshield. Do not bleach or dye safety belts. If you do, it may severely weaken them. a crash, they In might not be able to provide adequate protection. Clean safety belts only with mild soap and lukewarm water. Clean the outsideof the windshield with GM Powder (non-scratching Windshield Cleaner, Bon glass cleaningpowder), GM Part No. 1050011. The windshield is cleanif beads donot form when you rinse it with water. A m i @ Cleaning Glass Surfaces Glass should be cleaned often. GM Glass Cleaner (GM Part No. 1050427) or a liquid household glass cleaner will removenormal tobacco smokeand dust filmson interior glass. Don't use abrasive cleanerson glass, becausethey may cause scratches.Avoid placing decalson the inside rear window, since they may have to be scraped later. If off abrasive cleaners are used on the insideof the rear window, an electric defogger element may be damaged. Any temporary licenseshould not be attached across the defogger grid. Grime from the windshield will stickto the wiper blades and affect their performance.Clean the bladeby wiping vigorously with a cloth soaked full-strength in windshield washer solvent. Then rinse the blade with water. Check thewiper blades and clean them as necessary; replace blades that look worn. 6-47

are
used on the
inside of the
rear
window,
an electric
defogger
element may be

the windshield will

performance. Clean the
blade by
