78 GENERAL INFORMATION KIPASS (Kawasaki's Intelligent Proximity Activation Start System) System This motorcycle has the KIPASS system, which can start the engine and lock the steering without taking out the ignition key by only carrying the FOB (portable key). This system contains of the FOB, KIPASS ECU, Key Knob. NOTE żWhen the battery is discharged or taken off from the motorcycle, this system cannot lock or unlock the steering lock. A. KIPASS (Kawasaki’s Intelligent
Proximity Activation Start
System) System
This motorcycle has the KIPASS sys-
tem, which can start the engine and
lock the steering without taking out the
ignition key by only carrying the FOB
(portable key).
This system contains of the FOB,
KIPASS ECU, Key Knob.
NOTE

When the battery is discharged or
taken off from the motorcycle, this
system cannot lock or unlock the
steering lock.
