Rewind Starter, Replacing the V

370BA037 KN English N Press the spark plug boot firmly onto the spark plug N Position the cap for the spark plug boot and screw it down Rewind Starter Replacing the V-belt To help prolong the wear life of the starter rope, observe the following points: N Pull the starter rope only in the direction specified. N Do not pull the rope over the edge of the guide bushing. N Do not pull out the rope more than specified. N Do not allow the starter grip to snap back, guide it back into the housing slowly - see chapter on "Starting / Stopping the Engine." Have a damaged starter rope replaced by your dealer before it breaks completely. STIHL recommends that you have servicing and repair work carried out exclusively by an authorized STIHL servicing dealer. 2 1 0 1 1 N Undo the nuts (1) N Turn the tensioning nut (2) counterclockwise with the combination wrench - approx. 1/4 turn, as far as it will go = 0 4 3 N Pull the water hose out of the guide in the V-belt guard N Remove screw (3) N Raise the V-belt guard (4) slightly and pull it off to the front N Remove the V-belt from the front pulley 370BA061 KN 40 TS 410, TS 420

Pull the water hose out of the guide
in the V
-
belt guard

Remove screw (3)
N
Raise the V
-
belt guard (4) slightly
and pull it off to the front
N
Remove the V
-
belt from the front
pulley
Rewind Starter
Replacing the V
-
belt
