Remove air filter English Cleaning the Air Filter HD2 filters and wire mesh filters 001BA212 KN 145BA027 K N Wire mesh air filter (green filter housing) for extreme winter conditions (e. g., powdered or flying snow or frost formation) When dry, STIHL filters attain a long service life. N Always use STIHL filters dry Fouled air filters will impair engine performance, increase fuel consumption and make the machine more difficult to start. N Turn the knob above the rear handle in the direction of the arrow and remove the carburetor box cover N Remove filter 145BA028 K - HD2 filter - black filter frame, pleated filter fabric (left) - Wire mesh filter - green filter housing (right) If there is a noticeable loss of engine power: N Knock out the filter or blow it clear with compressed air from the inside outwards In case of stubborn dirt or stuck filter fabric N Wash the filter in STIHL specialpurpose cleaner (special accessory) or a clean, nonflammable cleaning liquid (e. g., warm soapy water) - rinse the filter from inside to out under a water jet - do not use high-pressure cleaners N Dry all filter parts - do not expose to extreme heat N Do not oil the filter Always replace a damaged filter. N Reinstall filter 001BA213 KN MS 650, MS 660 37
